Calls on Android
WFCC handles voice and video calls on Android using your device’s hardware chip for efficient processing and long battery life. Here is how to configure permissions and settings so you never miss a call.
Required permissions
Section titled “Required permissions”When you open calls for the first time, WFCC asks for standard Android permissions:
- Microphone — needed for all calls so others can hear your voice.
- Camera — needed for video calls to send your video.
- Notifications — required on Android 13 and newer to show incoming call alerts.
Incoming calls when the screen is locked
Section titled “Incoming calls when the screen is locked”When someone calls you and your phone is locked, WFCC wakes the screen and shows a full-screen incoming call notification.
If incoming calls do not wake your phone:
- Open Settings on your Android device.
- Go to Apps → WFCC → Permissions.
- Ensure Notifications is allowed.
- Go to Special app access (or Advanced) and make sure Display over other apps and Full screen intents are permitted.
Keep calls reliable in the background
Section titled “Keep calls reliable in the background”Android power management can put apps to sleep when the screen is turned off for an extended period. To ensure you receive incoming calls immediately:
- Go to Settings → Apps → WFCC.
- Tap Battery (or App battery usage).
- Select Unrestricted (or turn off Optimize battery usage).
Audio routing and echo cancellation
Section titled “Audio routing and echo cancellation”WFCC automatically manages audio to give you clear conversation:
- Audio routing: Easily switch between phone earpiece, loudspeaker, and connected Bluetooth headsets during a call.
- Echo suppression: WFCC includes built-in echo cancellation and noise reduction. If your phone has a built-in hardware canceller, the app uses it automatically; otherwise, it falls back to its built-in software canceller.
