Calls
WFCC has one-to-one and group calls, voice-only or with video, and screen sharing — in the same app as chat and tasks.
What calls do
Section titled “What calls do”- Voice uses the Opus codec. On a phone, a voice-only call plays through the earpiece.
- Video and screen sharing use HEVC, encoded on the device’s own graphics chip where it can.
- Echo cancellation and noise suppression are built in.
- Weak networks. The connection adapts to the network, and on a weak link the picture resolution goes down to keep the call going.
- Call waiting is supported, and Bluetooth audio is offered when a headset is connected.
During a call
Section titled “During a call”- Start the call from a chat with the call or video button.
- Answer an incoming call with Accept. The call timer starts when the other side answers, and a short vibration tells you the call has connected.
- Use the controls to mute the microphone, turn the Camera on or off, or share your screen.
- Check the connection. Tap the quality arrows to see live link statistics, including the measured send bitrate.
Calls need a connection; they do not work offline.
